Will extraction of teeth for braces have side effects afterwards?

I had went for my consultation and I will need to extract 4 teeth for braces. My mum wan finally convinced. Anyway I'm asian. So i have smaller jaw. If I were to extract 2 from bottom and above, how will it affect my facial structure? Because I already have small jaw, will extraction cause it to become smaller? Or will it benefit my look? I really don't know. My front teeth are kinda protruded. Please help me, i really want to get braces but afraid that the extraction will have adverse effect on my face. ): Anyone with small jaw and had extraction? Mind sharing your experience with me?
