Does anyone know?...

I read the book "Perfect" by Natasha Friend a few weeks back and I cant remember why Isabelle's father died. Well I know he was sick but did everyone know about it but were shocked or had he kept it a secret? It says in one part of the book but I just cant find it. Some plz help? I need to know for a summary for school.
