Moms of toddlers, please help!?

Ok, so just recently I went to open a package of a fruit snack for my 20 month old son. Anyhow, I ripped the plastic and a few fell on the floor, I picked them up and went to the trash to throw them away, when I returned my son was picking something off the floor and put it in his mouth and spit it out. At first I thought I missed a gummy fruit, when I got back there were a few small pieces of cat poop on the floor. I swear they weren't there before, so I have no idea how they got there. The cat isn't even in the room. They were dried up. I checked his diaper to make sure it wasn't his own, and he was clean. I am more worried now about the toxioplasmosis, and if he could get it just from putting one in his mouth then spitting it out. I washed off his hands immediately, and gave gime something to drink. I called my hubby, and he said he's probbaly fine, and laughed and said...gross...but I am still concerned. (I know call the pediatrician if I am worried), just wondering if any of you
