Did anyone know about a movie where there is a scientist who found a blueprint of alien spaceship?

the blueprint is being encoded in a radio signal send by the alien and the scientist found out about it, and at first they dont know what does the signal contain. but later they found out that it is a blueprint send by the alien to guide us to build a spaceship to go to their home planet. i think its quite an old movie, but not in the black and white era. anyone?
